Under the general supervision of the Office Manager, this position provides customer service and administrative support to all customers and departments of the company. This position is responsible for greeting visitors, answering phones, routing calls, receiving orders for service, and assisting customers with resolving issues. We are looking for someone who is friendly and enjoys taking the initiative to ensure our customers have a positive experience.
Job duties:
Answer customer questions regarding their account, billing, discrepancy in payment vs. charges, and recycling. Arranges last pick-up date and discontinues customer accounts as needed.
Deposit customer payments, handle cash transactions, enter data regarding customer payments and credit to customer accounts, and post customer charges and payments in the company billing system.
Collaborate with staff to provide correct information to drivers, customers and co-workers. Initiate work orders for pick-up and/or delivery.
Maintain office records and files.
Establish customer accounts by documenting service type, pricing, billing and other information.
Provide office support by processing mail, assisting with drop box orders and providing backup to the dispatcher.
Maintain good relationships with customers and co-workers.
This position requires:
High school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience. Bilingual language skills in Spanish is helpful.
Strong math skills and ability to learn common calculations.
Ability to solve practical problems and ensure the accuracy of data.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Must have the ability to multitask with frequent interruptions.
Must be able to manage difficult or emotional customer situations and respond promptly to requests for assistance.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers, customers, and the general public.
General computer skills. Excel experience helpful.
Ability to use a multi-line phone system.
The Customer Service Representative is an entry-level position with a starting wage of $20.00 per hour. This is full-time position that works Monday- Friday at our office in Salem. We offer a benefit package including full family coverage for health, dental, and vision as well as life insurance and a 401(k). We also offer paid vacation and some paid holidays.
