Ankor is looking for an individual for a variety of sewing projects. Our small custom sewing studio offers canvas repair services, upholstery and marine canvas for powerboats and sailboats. We also make van interior cushions and residential cushions and pillows with high-end upholstery fabrics. This is an excellent opportunity to work creatively in our NE Cully neighborhood studio space, sewing with canvas, leather and/or upholstery fabrics for a growing local company. Do you enjoy taking something old apart to re-make it? Do you want to spend your days and creative energy producing durable goods? If so, this job might be for you!

We are generally in a fast paced production mode, and so you should have a mindset to match, as we always strive for efficiency! Draw: cutting and sewing on material following patterns, templates, sketches, or blueprints.

Operate sewing machines and oil as needed/instructed, along with keeping a clean work space.

Maintain level of high quality of work consistent from day to day.

Customer service skills are important too as our shop space shares our showroom (customer visits are by appointment only) and we often meet our clients off-site for measuring and consultations.

Responsibilities:

Ideal candidate is well versed in an array of soft good materials and has technical mastery of sewing construction skills

Experience and familiarity with cutting fabric to precise dimensions.

Strong interpersonal skills including a positive and outgoing personality.

Pay is based on experience. To apply, please email a description of relevant experience with examples of skills, along with a resume.
