Leading label manufacturer located South of Portland has opportunity for an Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on production equipment, supporting equipment, and facilities. Primary duties will include diagnose problems, plan, and perform repairs on complex flexographic printing equipment.
Responsibilities include:
· Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on production equipment, supporting equipment, and facilities.
· Diagnose problems, plan, and perform all mechanical operations necessary to install, rearrange, modify, dismantle, repair, overhaul, and rebuild all types of complicated machine tools, plant machinery, and equipment relating to the flexographic printing industry.
· Fabricate and assemble custom systems for marking and labeling applications. These systems include material handling, automation, and controls.
· Maintain clean and organized equipment and work area.
· Organize and define tasks with minimal supervision.
· Complete routine paperwork as required.
· Maintain PC based maintenance history on all production equipment.
· Sourcing and picking up parts.
· Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications include:
· Experience with maintenance or repair of printing equipment preferred.
· Must be able to operate various mechanics tools and electronic equipment including milling machine, lathe, drill press, welder, digital multimeter and forklift.
· Machine shop experience including drill press, mill, lathe, and welding preferred
· Advanced mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic applications skills required.
· Must have experience and ability to interpret mechanical diagrams and drawings, as well as pneumatic and electrical schematics.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
· Basic math and computer skills are required.
· Must have good organizational skills; superior multitask and prioritizing abilities. Must be task and detail-oriented.
· Requires problem solving and troubleshooting skills; ability to handle frequent deadlines and changing priorities.
· Ability to work occasional overtime required, after hours and Saturday
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently; over 50 lbs occasionally.
· Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
· Requires occasionally working at heights up to 25 feet. May require occasional exposure to chemicals (NPA, solvent, acetate).
Valid Drivers License required.
Successful Candidate must provide personal hand tools in both SAE and Metric to include but not limited to:
End Wrenches up to 1”
Socket sets up to 1”
Pliers and wire cutters
Screwdrivers
Allen wrenches
Torx drivers
