Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly-organized and detail-oriented Operations Assistant to join our team in the paving industry. Someone who is interested in joining a high-energy team to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of operations, supporting project scheduling and providing customer service.
The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills, and be able to learn and work in new software applications.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and analyze in-process work to communicate changes to our team and ensure availability of needed resources
Review upcoming work to ensure critical details are included for the efficient performance of work by our field crews
Review and account for employee hours that are billed to individual jobs
Collaborate with the VP of Operations and Scheduler to resolve any operational challenges
Communicate with customers via phone and email
Support the operations team in various administrative tasks, such as answering phones, creating reports, and data entry
Qualifications:
Prior direct experience is NOT a key qualification. Instead, we are looking for someone who is highly organized and has a strong desire to learn and contribute
Attention to detail is critical to this role
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). This position will often represent us to our customers
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new software applications
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Ability to resolve issues proactively
High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree and any other training in related operations is a plus
