POSITION AND ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Fort George is hiring a Full-Time Warehouse / Route Relief Role for its fast growing Distribution department. Locally owned and operated, Fort George Distribution was established to ensure that our own beer made the entire journey from the brew kettle to your hand as fresh as possible. Now as a craft-only distributor, we treat every can and bottle with the respect it deserves because we know the dedication it takes to make high-quality beverages.
The Warehouse/Route Relief position is a distribution jack-of-all-trades. Duties primarily include traditional Delivery and Warehouse roles such as running delivery routes, counting inventory, building distributor orders, shipping and receiving, rotating products to keep beer in code, and picking orders, and picking up freight shipments from suppliers. This position can include less traditional tasks as well such as running trucks, communicating with accounts, maintaining the warehouse grounds, attending pourings and releases, and a whole lot more. Varying schedule to occasionally include weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
Essential Job Functions:
Shipping and Receiving
Covering delivery routes
Building orders, putting stock and products away
Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse, loading dock, and storage areas
Rotating stock and product, keeping products in code
Covering local delivery routes as needed
Attending and participating in key distribution events such as releases, tastings, etc.
Interfacing with account personnel and sales reps as necessary
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Other Responsibilities:
Attending all scheduled employee meetings and mandatory events
Helping to maintain a clean and tidy work environment at the distribution warehouse and grounds
Filling in for absent distribution staff as necessary, including drivers, sales reps, etc.
Other duties assigned by Owner(s), Distribution Manager, Warehouse Manager, Driver Manager
Who Are We Looking For:
21 years of age or older
Clean driving record; valid Driver’s License required; valid Commercial Driver’s License preferred
Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical
Forklift Operator’s certification (may be obtained upon hire); ability to safely operate warehouse vehicles and equipment such as box trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, pallet wrappers, etc.
Ability to communicate with coworkers and associates; ability to read/understand written/oral instructions/information etc.
