Candidate will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager helping to maintain vehicles/equipment for various departments. Work will include completing tasks with tractors and trailers, forklifts, and standard motor vehicles. Technician will have tasks and work orders to complete with inside and outside environments. Technician will follow all safety regulations regarding PPE inside a food production facility and general applicable state requirements regarding company vehicle conditions.
Job Duties:
Knowledge of DOT regulations and standards for vehicle safety and inspection
Inspecting vehicles and equipment
Diagnosing repair needs
Replacing and adjusting parts on assemblies
General lubrication and maintaining hydraulics.
Collision repair as needed.
Preventative maintenance
Repair and maintain diesel tractors for transportation needs.
Repair and maintain fleet vehicles.
Repair and maintain trailer motors for refrigeration units.
Education/Training/Experience:
Ability to use diagnostic tools and software to identify/ troubleshoot mechanical issues.
Highschool diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license
Post secondary training or certificate.
Ability to read prints and schematics.
Mechanical knowledge in both diesel and standard motor vehicles
Minimum 5 years of experience in diesel and standard mechanics related to motor vehicles and transportation.
