If you're looking for a team that values your input and gives you room to grow, this is your next step.What You'll Be DoingWillingness to replenish professional knowledge.Keen attention to detail.Capable of working in a fast-paced, production environment.Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes.Creating new and exciting desserts and seasonal items to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.Creative ability with artistic skill in decorating cakes, pastries and other desserts using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.Great attention to detail and creativity.In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition.Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, vegan, sugarless etc.)Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget.Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.Ensuring their section of the kitchen adheres to safety and health regulations.Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station. Operating and managing the pastry section of the kitchen and liaising with the Executive and Sous Chefs to ensure a successful working environment.Ordering new supplies, ingredients, and equipment for the pastry section, when needed, and within budget.Organizing and leadership skills.Supervising, motivate and train staff members, when needed to work more efficiently.Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel.Meeting with customers to discuss details and planning of custom-made desserts and pastries for special occasions, such as weddings.
