Description Jamie Benway with Robert Half is looking for a Senior Accountant with previous experience to fill an open position at a respected Steel Manufacturing company. This role handles essential tasks, such as financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. The role requires superb analytical skills, and the work environment is challenging and fast-paced. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Steel Manufacturing field and is located in Portland, Oregon. Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

Experience in SOX control execution/documentation
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Knowledge of financial statement preparation
Solid understanding of month end closings
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional time management skills preferred
