Andy Paris & Associates has an immediate opening for a full-time Project Surveyor with Oregon Professional Land Surveyor’s License or 5+ years of survey experience and is actively working towards obtaining an Oregon license. We are involved in multiple aspects of surveying with emphasis on Boundary and Topographic surveys, providing an excellent career opportunity to gain the additional knowledge and experience required to obtain a Professional Land Surveyor’s license. Candidate must have drafting and field experience and will be expected to manage all aspects of surveying projects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
If unlicensed, candidate will be expected to strive to obtain their Oregon Professional Surveyors License. This position is primarily in the office but may occasionally be required to work in the field in some capacity, candidate may be expected to perform site visits, or field survey. Candidate’s primary role will be developing surveying products, and reviewing and stamping surveys, writing proposals, and managing their assigned work loads.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Oregon Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in good standing with OSBEELS and other state jurisdictions
Well rounded, field and office experienced, flexible professional with positive attitude
Associates or bachelor’s degree in Geomatics or survey related curriculum
Minimum 5 years total survey experience
Minimum 3 years Field surveyor experience performing a mix of construction, boundary location and retracement surveys, residential or commercial projects, or demonstration of equivalent experience
Knowledgeable of Oregon Revised Statutes and Oregon Administrative Rules relating to surveying
Flexible and willing to learn new skills, and open mindedness to adapt to new processes and procedures, and ability to multitask
Strong work ethic and sense of personal responsibility and integrity
Skilled and able handle the stresses of difficult clients or situations in a professional manner
Perform independent field work if necessary and/or coordinate or direct survey crews
Skilled with Total Stations, GPS Receivers, Survey Controllers and proper field surveying procedures and practices
Minimum 2 years Office Experience; drafting and managing surveying projects
Familiarity with Trimble Field Equipment (Trimble S6 Robotic, R10 & R10-2 Trimble GPS, TSC7 & TSC5 Data Collectors
Experience downloading transferring and processing field data using Trimble Business Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Able to research survey and deed records and apply research, principals of boundary control and mathematics to resolve property boundaries
Familiarity with Windows operating systems and programs to include Microsoft Office programs
Experience in FEMA Flood Plain research, field survey and preparation of Flood Elevation Certificates
Proficiency in writing legal descriptions and plat certificates.
Proficiency in using Civil 3D to draft Record of Surveys, Subdivisions, Partitions, and Topographic maps, exhibits, ALTA surveys.
Experience in reading and interpreting construction plans, problem solving, and properly preparing field crews for construction staking layout and reviewing all field work
Proficiency in basic surveying trigonometry and mathematics essential for construction calculations and layout
Able to review all work performed by technicians
Able to communicate effectively and work independently or in a team environment with fellow employees and customers
Strong organizational and written communication skills
Ability and experience to take on responsibility of estimating and proposal preparation
Ability and flexibility to quickly switch gears and react professionally to last minute changes or emergencies in scheduling
