This role works collaboratively to produce-high quality components used in the world’s finest microscopes operated by scientists like Nobel prize winners and researchers who imaged the COVID-19 virus. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing specialized equipment to established parameters and specifications. The Lead Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician is the first line of response for production technicians when they are facing technical or performance issues with our Small Dual Beam Scanning Electron Microscopes test tools.

Conduct routine preventative maintenance on all SDB Scanning Electron Microscope test tools.

Supervising test tool uptime using Key Performance Indicators and preemptively plan/schedule tool repairs.

Install and qualify new SDB Scanning Electron Microscope capital test equipment on an as needed basis.

How will you get here?Education

High school diploma or equivalent required

2-year associate degree in a technical field like Electronic Engineering Technology or Microelectronics required

2+ years of experience operating a SDB Scanning Electron Microscopes OR a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.

Prior experience as a Field Service Engineer troubleshooting high end capital equipment in a Customer centric uptime environment

Military Technical Training in lieu of a technical degree may also be considered.

Experience

At least 2 years of validated experience in a job-related industry with proficiency in operating Scanning Electron Microscopes

Experience working in the fields of Electronics and Ultra High Vacuum strongly preferred

Experience with troubleshooting Scanning Electron Microscopes down to the component level

Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plus

Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs a plus (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to lift up to 35lbs

Knowledge of Scanning Electron Microscopes, data acquisition, taking SEM images and measurements

Knowledge of Electronics Manufacturing, High Voltage, and Ultra High Vacuum

Ability to read work instructions and schematic drawings while performing basic troubleshooting of tools down to the component and software level

Ability to analyze and tackle problems independently as well as collaboratively

Ability to support projects, perform training and work efficiently as part of cohesive teams

Self-motivated, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills

Proven track record with optimally working in a fast paced manufacturing environment

Comfortable operating in a cleanroom environment using appropriate PPE as needed

Professional verbal and written communication skills, to enable collaboration with colleagues of differing cultural, language and backgrounds
