Individuals skilled in, and willing to learn, a variety of construction trades are encouraged to apply. Experience in carpentry, metalwork, and commercial construction is strongly preferred. Particular interest in renewable energy and sustainable technologies a plus.

Job Description:

Our Solar Technicians work installing, maintaining, replacing, repairing, and restoring PV systems on building roofs and ground level properties throughout Oregon, but principally in Lane and surrounding counties.

AES specializes in residential, commercial and municipal solar installations at homes, businesses and public facilities in equal measure. Our Solar Technicians work closely with our electrical Journeymen and Apprentices installing the finest, custom-built, renewable energy and battery storage facilities in the State. We work with metal, wood, concrete, and other materials, and welcome applicants skilled in all types of construction. Most work occurs on rooftops and some projects are field mounted at ground level.

Wage rates start at $20 / hour (negotiable). AES offers group medical coverage, guaranteed company contribution to Individual Retirement Accounts, lodging and per diem for limited out of area work, six annual paid holidays and up to two weeks paid vacation. Approximately 20% of our work is on public facilities at Davis-Bacon and BOLI Prevailing Wage Rate rates, with an average pay of $45 / hour.

The typical work week is Mon-Thu, ten hours per day. This position requires working out of town 20-50% of the time. When out of town work occurs, AES pays transportation both ways, provides paid hotel accommodations, and a per diem allowance. Out of town work requires staying in hotels three nights per week.

Requirements:

Ability to pass insurance-required background check.

Valid Oregon driver’s license, OSHA-10 safety and other training, as required, once employed.
