Office Manager/Medical Billing Specialist $20.00

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-orientedMedical Billerto join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in medical billing, with a strong understanding of insurance processes, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes. This role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately prepare and submit insurance claims for various medical services, ensuring all coding is correct (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).

Review patient records and charge entries to ensure proper documentation is in place before billing.

Follow up on outstanding claims and payments, resolving any issues with insurance companies or patients as needed.

Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to address billing inquiries or discrepancies.

Post payments from insurance carriers and patients, ensuring all accounts are updated accurately.

Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines in all aspects of billing and communication.

Assist with generating and reviewing reports related to billing activities, payment trends, and outstanding balances.

Work collaboratively with the billing team to ensure timely and accurate processing of claims.

Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the billing department.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, including familiarity with insurance procedures and claims management.

Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), and healthcare insurance processes.

Knowledge of billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing or coding (such as CPC, CBCS) is a plus.

Work Environment & Schedule:

This is a part-time position, with a flexible schedule (20 hours per week).

The position is office-based or remote depending on company policies.
