Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette is currently seeking Employment Specialists for our Job Connection Department in the Bend/Redmond area. The Job Connection Program provides free job search and referral services to individuals with barriers to employment to assist them in finding meaningful work.
GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide job search employment services to employers and to individuals with disabilities or other vocationally disadvantaging conditions. Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette's (GICW) Job Connection (JC) Program provides free job search and referral services to individuals with barriers to employment find meaningful work.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop community work sites for assigned programs.
Provide program participants with job leads and skill training information.
Maintain accurate and timely case documentation.
Monitor and provide documentation to ensure accurate data entry information.
Maintain frequent communication with program participants regarding job search progress.
Participate in staff meetings and staff training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
AA degree or six months of related work experience.
Direct sales and marketing experience required.
Must possess excellent customer service skills, communication skills and be a self-starter.
Must provide own transportation as required.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with frequent telephone use.
Occasional travel within service area may be required.
Employment Specialists are subject to transfer to other locations within GICW system.
May be exposed to program participants with unpredictable behaviors in a variety of settings.
Moderate adaptability required: Work environment occasionally hectic (fast paced) with irregular short deadlines and a limited number of critical or unusual situations.
