The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is looking for a part-time Line Cook and a part time Prep Cook or one well rounded cook with experience in a professional kitchen who thrives on consistency.

Overview:

The Line/Prep Cook plays a vital role in the kitchen, assisting in the preparation of food and meals and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. This position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Prep and Line cook is responsible for ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with all of our fresh made recipes. This role also requires maintaining cleanliness of the back of house including washing dishes and deep cleaning projects as needed.

The Great Greek prides itself on using fresh ingredients and traditional recipes to make our delicious food. We make our food from scratch.

We are locally owned and operated and provide training and leadership on the job.

Duties:

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.

Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in meal preparation.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety standards at all times.

Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other culinary tools.

Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.

Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during meal periods.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.

Experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably as a cook.

Proficient knife skills and ability to use various kitchen equipment effectively.

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation.

Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.

Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen and front of house staff and management.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred

ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification

Excellent time management skills

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
