Job Purpose or Objective(s): As a Unit Manager RN, you will provide supervision and direction to nursing staff including planning, evaluating, and administering the nursing service program in order to improve and maintain the quality of patient care. You will report to the Clinical Services Manager.Primary Tasks:
Serve as a key communicator between the medical clinics and clinic administration.
Assumes the role of patient advocate ensuring we are providing the highest quality health care to our members.
Perform clinical evaluation of nursing staff per hospital guidelines and revise, develop, and implement policies/procedures for the Department of Nursing and other related areas.
Conduct interviews and implement hiring practices for nursing and support staff in the department.
Compile departmental work schedule, arranges for staff’s requested leave and plans for adequate personnel coverage.
Participate in the coordination, review and evaluation of performance improvement programs and activities for the medical clinics.
Manage department budget and monitor the appropriate use of financial resources for all assigned areas.
Review practices to ensure compliance with standards of regulatory and licensing agencies.
Provide professional growth and development of staff members by identification of needs, sponsoring training programs, encouraging education efforts and evaluation of same.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Associates degree in nursing
Current license as an RN in the state of Oklahoma
Current CPR certification
Ability to demonstrate professional image daily to patients, staff and the public
Knowledge of basic and advanced nursing skills, principles, practices, and procedures required in assessing and caring for patients of all age groups
Ability to maintain all required licensure and certifications per policies and procedures
Three (3) years RN supervisory experience
