Accountant

Description We are searching for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Toledo, Ohio. This role involves managing a variety of accounting tasks, including maintaining accurate financial records, processing customer credit applications, and responding to customer inquiries. This is a short-term contract position with a strong focus on improving accounting processes and systems.Responsibilities: Oversee the entire accounting department ensuring all financial operations run smoothly Maintain and manage the company's financial records with a high level of accuracy Efficiently process customer credit applications and manage accounts payable and receivable Utilize various accounting software systems, including Sage and Great Plains, to streamline accounting functions Manage the company's budget processes and perform audits when necessary Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when needed Write standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes to ensure consistency and efficiency Collaborate with the HR department for payroll and benefits management Assist with the preparation of necessary documentation for potential company acquisition. Requirements Proficiency in accounting software systems is essential for this role. Experience with ADP - Financial Services is desirable. Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is a must. Knowledge of ERP Solutions would be advantageous. Proficiency in Great Plains (GPAC) is highly desirable. Solid understanding of accounting functions is required. Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is mandatory. Auditing skills would be a strong asset for this role. Knowledge of budget processes is essential. A detail oriented qualification in accounting or a related field is required.
