DescriptionJob Title:Operations Training SupervisorDepartment:Human ResourcesReports to:Human Resources DirectorClassification:SJOB SUMMARY:The Operations Trainer Supervisor supervises new and evaluates both new and existing Team Members using independent judgment, helping them meet goals related to workplace safety, food safety/quality, and production requirements. The Operations Trainer Supervisor trains and certifies existing Team Members meet the qualifications of their jobs on an annual basis and creates performance improvement plans as appropriate. As a member of management, the Operations Trainer Supervisor is required to achieve human resources and facility objectives, and must be able to direct, train, assign, and coach new and existing Team Members to ensure they can successfully perform the assigned job duties before proceeding to the next step of their employment and/or annual re-certification. The Operations Trainer Supervisor develops and oversees training courses and retention programs at the plant level and reports to the Human Resources Director. The Operations Trainer Supervisor is responsible for implementing and enforcing company work rules, GMPs, and policies, including recommending corrective action and discipline for employees under their supervision and training. The Operations Trainer Supervisor is held accountable for both new and existing Team Members understanding training, performing successfully, and meeting goals related to workplace safety, food safety/quality, and production requirements.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Conducts training courses and on-the-jobtraining for new and existing Team Members.

Directs employees during New Hire Orientation, Production and Safety Training and assigns their duties using independent judgment.

Assists plant supervision with on-the-job training for new and current employees, andcreates and develops training courses (including introductory and refresher training for continual improvement).

Recommends personnel decisions, including hiring, corrective actions, discipline, terminations, wage decisions, promotions and rewards, and department assignments.

Motivates, coaches, corrects, and challenges personnel with a positive approach, and tailorstrainings based on assessment of each employee’s development, qualifications, and understanding of the job.

Maintains highest level of confidentiality with respect to both information about employees and the Company.

Ensures proper methods are followed for production and safety, andadapts training and performance improvement plans according to each employee’s skills and experience and the Company’s retention goals.

Maintains an engaged and team-oriented workforce leading by example and acting in the interests in the Company.

Communicates issues or concerns with Production Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Production Supervisors and Facility Manager as needed.

Ensures all production changeovers are trained in reference to SOPs and determines when production changeovers are not appropriate and whether new Team Members are ready for the next step in their employment.

Provides high-quality advice and service on daily employee relations and performance management issues.

Answers questions and inquires that require comprehensive knowledge of departmental procedures, operations, and human resources programs.

Needs a complete understanding of effective training and educational methods for a production operation.

Manage the personnel schedule and assess staffing needs. Provides leadership through goal setting, delegation, and communication. Assists with personnel decisions including performance appraisals, hiring, terminations, wage decisions and promotions.

Offers proactive retention support.

Drives Team Member retention by demonstrating and implementing Company values and policies, including monitoring and tracking all new hires’ performance and development during their initial 45 days of employment.

Maintains ongoing relationships with all employees to ensure that they are welcomed, understand their job requirements, and add value to our Company.

Supervises annual retraining program, responsible for evaluating and recertifying Team Members qualify for job, and creates performance improvement plans as appropriate.

Supports new Team Members by maintaining a presence on the production floor, serving as primary point of contact for them for direction and assignments, and meeting all new Team Members on a daily basis to assess their skills development.

Attends regular management and human resources meetings, contributes to policy development and decision-making, and tailors training and supervision accordingly.

Responsible for documentation and administration of operational training programs.

Creates and updates grading / evaluation criteria for new and existing Team Members and regularly grades / evaluates new and existing Team Members based upon such criteria for either initial certification or re-certification.

Maintains confidentiality of information relating to both current and former employees and their personnel records.

Records, documents, and maintains training personnel progression files and training database,and compiles status reports from training database.

May assume other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications of the position:

Excellent written and oral communication and demonstrational skills.

Patient attitude with, and mentorship of, inexperienced employees.

Bilingual a plus.

Ability to assign on-the-job skills training and direct employees under their supervision.

Previous experience in a production job.

Previous experience in a supervisory, teaching, or human resources position a plus.

Basic computer, email, Word, PowerPoint, typing, and clericalskills.

Basic computer knowledge, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Alchemy knowledge a plus

Previous experience in case ready operations and protein preparation.

Attention to detail.

Time and priority management skills

Personal and professional integrity.

High School degree or equivalent preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSACTIVITIES:Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, writing, typing, speaking, using wrists, hands, or fingers when training Team Members.HEARING:Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Depending on work assignment, must be able to work in a noisy work environment.VISUAL ABILITIES:Acute closed vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.PHYSICAL STRENGTH:Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.WORKING CONDITIONS:Must be able to work in both office setting and food processing environments.
