DescriptionJOB TITLE:Yard DriverDEPARTMENT:Supply Chain400REPORTS TO:Warehouse SupervisorCLASSIFICATION:JOB SUMMARY:This position is responsible for providing support for trailer movements withinshipping and receiving departments, as well as assisting in preparation of trailersfor shipping and monitoring the status of loaded trailers.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Ensures the effective and timely completion of all trailer movement
functions.a. An employee in this position must have the ability to drive Tractor,maneuvering into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.b. Clean and spot trailers to specified doors or lot locations.c. Inspect trailers for defects, pre/post tri and submit inspection reportindicating condition per plant policies.d. Inspect loaded trailers to ensure product is secure for undamagedtransport of product and that refrigeration unit is functioning. Reportany issues to Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Supervisor.Drive tractor-trailer within yard or within short distances outside ofyard, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill inmaneuvering on the road and on Company premises.e. Be knowledgeable of Thermo King Truck Trailer CR, DAS, and DSR AlarmCodes. Reset refrigeration units after codes have been addressed.f. Meet this position's physical demands.Ability and willingness to select/load/unload and/or deliver ALLproducts that may be ordered by our customers.g.
