OverviewIntrepid Solutions, a CIS Secure company, is currently supporting the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) on a NEW multi-year contract providing IT services across multiple contract task orders. Intrepid Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator, with specific skills in Linux, to join our growing team. A qualified Systems Administrator candidate will be able to meet the requirements, and perform the duties, outlined below:Responsibilities

Provide Linux and Windows System Administration.

Coordinate with various stakeholders to analyze requirements and determine hardware and software needs for automated solutions.

Implement system enhancements to boost performance and reliability, covering installation, patching, monitoring, and configuration management.

Ensure data integrity through backup and recovery services, proactive management of storage devices, and regular updates of virus and malmare protection.

Manage user and computer accounts, overseeing file permissions and security access lists.

Conduct thorough testing of new releases to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.

Develop and document technical processes and procedures as necessary.

Provide recommendations for hardware, software, and system component purchases.

Engage with vendors to troubleshoot issues, evaluate products and services, and implement suggestions.

Uphold Information Systems security guidelines rigorously, with expertise in DOD STIGs and vulnerability mitigation according to RMS and DOD Standards.

Maintain security audit and logging information for classified networked and standalone computers as directed.

Prepare security documentation for Computer Security input and report project status as required.

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

This position operates 100% onsite unless otherwise discussed and approved by the Program Manager and customer; work is conducted on a standard eight (8) hour schedule Monday - Friday.

TRAVEL:

Position does not anticipate regular travel.

QualificationsCLEARANCE:

Active Top Secret / SCI is required upon application for initial consideration.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

CERTIFICATION(S):

Department of Defense (DoD) 8140/8570Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II (CompTIA Security+) certification, required. 

Linux operating systems certification (e.g. Linux+, LPIC, LFCS, RHCSA), required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Six (6) or more years of experience as Linux System Administrator; troubleshooting and resolving problems in a complex environment.

Experience with roaming Windows profiles for approximately 350+ personnel.

Demonstrated knowledge of various scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Bash, Powershell, and VB Script.

Demonstrated experience in Linux Administration.

Proficiency in analyzing and addressing customer requirements.

Strong understanding of Information Systems security protocols and standards.

Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgement in problem-solving.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
