Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are looking for a meticulous and dedicated Lab Technician who will maintain ongoing records of all testing procedures and input data into the computer daily. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy of equipment readouts by comparing them with standard samples, maintain a clean work area, and foster effective working relationships with colleagues. Adherence to safety standards and certification requirements is essential.Responsibilities

Maintain ongoing records of all testing procedures and input data into the computer daily.

Ensure adequate supplies for testing procedures and notify the supervisor when reordering is necessary.

Compare equipment readouts with standard samples to ensure system accuracy.

Keep a neat and clean work area, wash equipment as needed, and store equipment properly.

Maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.

Perform duties safely, using approved safety equipment and completing all safety certification requirements.

Adhere to FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and employer standards and guidelines.

Conduct moisture, density, and viscosity testing as outlined by SOPs.

Prepare, process, and test samples using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures.

Perform daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant.

Maintain samples of tested products for result confirmation if necessary.

Document testing procedures and promptly notify operations of required adjustments.

Enter and report data using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Understand production processes and make quality recommendations to operators.

Perform light maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment.

Essential Skills

Experience in quality control, GMP, laboratory procedures.

Ability to perform analytical testing using computerized data systems.

Understanding of chemistry and quality assurance processes.

Experience with lab documentation and operating standard lab equipment (pH meter, balances, spectrophotometer).

Proficiency in using commercial software applications (Excel, Word).

Strong math skills for lab testing calculations.

Previous plant experience.

Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent communication, organizational, troubleshooting, and record-keeping skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Good attendance history.

Excellent safety record and awareness.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Willingness to assume and learn new responsibilities.

Proven housekeeping and sanitation skills.

Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.

Work EnvironmentThis position operates on a swing shift schedule of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, rotating to nights with the same schedule. Shifts are 12 hours long, from 7am to 7pm. During training, the hourly rate is $22.93, increasing to $25.08 once on the swing shift schedule. The role requires being on your feet for the entire shift, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. A 30-minute lunch break is provided.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.93 - $25.08Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
