Based in the field and reporting to the Medical Director for the Netherlands, overall purpose of the role is to drive strategic country medical activities in alignment with regional initiatives and the Medical Plan for the Netherlands for Haemophilia.The Medical Science Manager (MSM) will deliver high quality medical and scientific communication externally as well as internally, aligned with the Medical Director and in line with defined plans. Together with the Medical Director and the commercial/patient access organization, the MSM will define, initiate and follow-up all scientific and medical activities in the Medical Centers of the Netherlands.The MSM will interact with clinical-scientific stakeholders and create value for patients through medical and scientific stakeholder engagement, medical scientific projects, clinical study support and scientific communications. The MSM will initiate planned medical activities, including scientific presentations, discussion of clinical data and programs and educational programs. The MSM will also provide local scientific training to the cross-functional Dutch organization, scientific input in promotional and educational materials, as well as provide scientific support to the cross-functional Dutch team. The MSM will also be the liaison with the patient advocacy groups and have the lead for local community engagement initiatives.  The job involves interactions and coordination with various colleagues from the local and global medical teams, commercial teams, patient access and community engagement teams, as well as from various other functions (marketing, compliance, regulatory, drug safety and logistics).This role is 50% field based (travel also includes monthly team meetings and international conferences) Key responsibilities:Timely and proactively support Medical Director and cross-functional team in developing local (medical and community engagement) tactics and ensuring that country-level plans (and budget) are developed and delivered in collaboration and alignment with the global plans;Provide input to regional plans if relevant;Strategic and tactical execution with a focus on ensuring the delivery of medical strategies within the Netherlands and according to the Sobi values and approaches for timely and sustainable dialogue-based, respectful collaboration with all stakeholders both internally and externally;In cooperation with the local cross-functional team and with the guidance from the Medical Director, identifies, develops and maintains strategic and effective relationships with KOLs, scientific experts and other medical scientific stakeholders;To share the information with the Medical Director, head-office team and the commercial colleagues (when appropriate) regarding communications with KOLs and stakeholders;In coordination with the Medical Director: to propose, implement and monitor the local medical action plan (strategic and operational) which includes phase 3 or 4 studies, investigator studies, post-authorization studies, and promotional, educational or care-improving medical projects;Support the set-up, initiation and roll-out of phase 2-4 Sobi-sponsored studies and investigator-sponsored studies, as appropriateSupport the access team with the preparation and submission of pricing and reimbursement dossiers or tender offers, whatever is appropriate, to the relevant bodies within the Netherlands;Where required, manage external market research / consultancy vendors to support local activities, including epidemiological/real world data collection and patient support programs;Create and execute medical expert engagement plan;Support the preparation and execution of the cross-functional key account management and multichannel customer engagement plans;Organize and set-up scientific advisory boards with the appropriate key stakeholdersRespond to medical questions from customers and company colleagues;To ensure initial and continued medical training of cross-functional team members in the Netherlands;Contribute to providing local and regional feedback to HQ when performing Business Development Due Diligence activities and competitor analysis;Participate in relevant local, regional and global congresses and symposia to represent the organization, interacting with appropriate stakeholders/customers in line with overall external engagement;Facilitate and manage (un-)met medical need solutions within regulatory and legal framework if appropriateTo work with the cross-functional team on public relations or symposia with healthcare professionals;Liaison with patient advocacy groups and the global community engagement team and having the lead for local community engagement initiatives;Be an active member of the medical and the community engagement team at the broadest level in order to proactively lead, support and drive best-practice sharing with colleagues from other affiliates;Ensure ongoing completion of all required initial and ongoing training in local regulations and policies, and secure that all business operations are conducted in adherence to those regulations and policies, protecting the Company’s interests and minimizing or mitigating risks.
