Technology Senior Manager - Appian

As a Technology leader within our Institutional Client Services (ICS) team, you'll spearhead the management of two agile Appian teams, offering architectural guidance and support. You'll strategically direct the development teams building multiple products and/or cost centers, serving as the primary liaison between Engineering/Architecture, Technology leadership, vendors and business partners. Your role encompasses overseeing development, career planning for team members, and managing concurrent development streams within budget constraints.Primary Responsibilities:

Collaborate with client management to analyze short and long-range business requirements, recommending innovative solutions to meet evolving needs and fostering positive client relationships.

Stay abreast of industry technology trends and vendor applications, initiating necessary changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Foster internal and external relationships, ensuring seamless communication and cooperation while maintaining vendor partnerships.

Manage multiple application development projects, support testing efforts, and oversee technology infrastructure/project management, adhering to Division standards and long-range plans.

Drive adherence to Department and Technology standards and procedures, including documentation requirements, while managing escalated issues and concerns.

Demonstrate a deep understanding of business environments and operational impacts, providing training plans, guidance, and knowledge sharing to promote staff growth and career development.

Uphold managerial responsibilities including staffing, performance management, and adherence to risk and regulatory standards, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment that reflects M&T Bank's brand.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:10 to 20Tech Stack:Proficiency in Appian version 18.x and higher, with experience in Object oriented development (Java, .NET), relational databases (e.g., transact SQL, MYSQL, MariaDB), ETL tools, and Agile methodology.Education and Experience Requirements:

A combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ engineering and/or architecture experience and 5 years' leadership experience including people management

Experience with Appian or equivalent BPM product, large system enhancements, conversions, and production problem resolution.

Complete understanding of the system development life cycle, strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Confidence in leading multiple teams across different geographic locations and time zones, with prior experience presenting to senior management.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12 years of technology management or large program leadership experience, extensive application and product knowledge, and proficiency in the technology area being led.
