Description Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic client seeking a cost accountant. The Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. Prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and analyze manufacturing costs
Create internal cost audits
Determine any changes in cost by analyzing any changes in services or goods provided
Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
Assist in audits and general ledger preparation
Analyze projects and data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste
Abide by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
Estimate new and proposed product costs
Recommend costs and cost savings based on analysis
Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program
Carry out variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
Execute standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants
Log a detailed record of collected data
Create and manage the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization Requirements - Extremely detailed and analytical
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
Knowledge of organizational accounting concepts
Prior experience utilizing cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate
2 years of Cost Accounting work experience
