POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is for a Maintenance Technician to care for a four building facility. We are looking
for an individual who can work independently, using common sense and problem-solving skills
to maintain the property. This person must be a team player who enjoys working with people, as
well as have the ability to work independently. The position requires someone who has the
initiative to find and solve issues, and the ability to step in to help whenever necessary. The
individual must have handyman, basic plumbing, general maintenance troubleshooting skills,
and a friendly “can-do” attitude towards completing tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Inspect Church, office facilities and grounds on a daily basis. Take action and respond to
areas of need.
● Establish and maintain a program of groundskeeping, general repairs and maintenance,
and overseeing housekeeping contractors.
● Have a general understanding of the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems,
HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment etc. to the extent that
problems can be identified and the proper vendor with relevant expertise can be
contracted to fix the problem if needed.
● Coordinate the purchase/ordering, receiving, stocking, and disbursing of janitorial
supplies, water coolers and equipment.
● Work cooperatively with Church office staff on the logistics for Church events and non-
church events taking place at facilities. This would include room set up and take-down of
tables, chairs, a/v, banners, etc. Includes events that may take place on the weekends.
● Maintain all maintenance areas and storage rooms in an orderly fashion and in
compliance with safety regulations.
● Perform maintenance inspections and repairs around campus weekly.
● Serve as on-call maintenance providing evening, weekend, and holiday emergency
service.
● Operate power washer, shampoo machines and other machinery.
● Maintaining Memorial Garden clear of leaves and debris
● Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and
repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
● Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
● Ability to stand for an extended period of time and lift 40 lbs.
● Perform other duties as instructed.
● Comfortability with jobs involving a ladder or heights, ex. changing light bulbs and
ceiling tiles
● Cleaning roof drains, as needed
PRE REQUISITIES:
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Knowledge of general facilities maintenance skills.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two years of hotel or residential maintenance experience. Painting and plumbing
experience is a plus. Formal training can be considered in lieu of experience.
PHYSICAL ABILITY:
● Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time
● Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed.
● Continuous use of hands and arms
● Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting.
