Job summary:Title: Microsoft 365 Administrator - Hybrid Location: Raleigh, NC, United States Length and terms: Long term - W2 or C2C Position created on 10/07/2024 04:45 pm Job description:Interview Type: Either Webcam Interview or In Person Very long term project initial PO for 1 year, expect to go for 4+ years Hybrid Onsite three days a week and work remotely two days a week.seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 (M365) Administrator to oversee the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of our organizations M365 environment.This role requires a deep understanding of M365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related technologies. The City of Raleigh continues to grow its investment in both M365 and the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing and managing complex M365 deployments in enterprise environments.This role is a hybrid position, offering remote work two days a week. Three days of work will be on site in our citys Central Communication Center.Responsibilities:

M365 Deployment and Configuration

Design, plan, and implement M365 solutions to meet the organizations business needs and technical requirements.

Configure and customize M365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Office 365 applications.

Implement security and compliance features such as data loss prevention (DLP), conditional access, and information protection policies.

Identity and Access Management

Manage user identities and access controls using Entra ID and M365 admin center.

Help implement single sign on (SSO) and multi factor authentication (MFA) via Azure to enhance security and user experience.

Configure role based access control (RBAC) and privilege management to enforce least privilege access principles.

Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams

Administer Exchange Online, including mailbox management, distribution lists, mail flow rules, and message hygiene settings.

Configure and manage Microsoft Teams for collaboration, including channels, meetings, chat, and integration with other M365 services.

Optimize SharePoint Online sites and libraries for document lifecycle management, version control, and collaboration workflows.

Data Management and Governance

Implement data governance policies and retention labels to classify, protect, and manage data across M365 workloads.

Monitor data usage and storage consumption, optimizing resources and addressing potential compliance risks.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define and enforce information lifecycle management (ILM) policies and procedures.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting

Monitor the health and performance of M365 services using built in tools and third party monitoring solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to M365 services, collaborating with Microsoft support as needed.

Perform root cause analysis of incidents and implement preventive measures to minimize future disruptions.

User Training and Support

Provide training and support to end users on M365 applications and features, promoting best practices for productivity and collaboration

Develop and maintain self service resources such as knowledge base articles, FAQs, and video tutorials.

Assist with user onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless transition of access and data.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

Stay current with M365 updates, releases, and roadmap announcements, evaluating new features and capabilities for adoption.

Identify opportunities to utilize the Power Platform for process automation, workflow optimization, and cost reduction within the M365 environment.

Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, prioritize enhancements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

3/5 years of experience as a M365 Administrator or similar role in an enterprise environment.

Strong familiarity with the Information Technology Infrastructure Libr ary (ITIL) process, including change management and IT service management.

Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and management of M365 environments.

Experience with M365 security and compliance features, such as DLP, information protection, and audit logging.

Relevant Microsoft or cloud certifications, such as MS 900, MS 102

Experience in the Azure environment for both government and commercial tenants.

Familiarity with Intune, SCCM, or Endpoint Manager for application and device management.

Required Skills:

Experience as a M365 Administrator or similar role in an enterprise environment. 2 Years

Experience configuring and administering M365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Entra ID 2 Years

Understanding of identity and access management concepts, including SSO, MFA, RBAC, Zero Trust, and Conditional Access policies. 2 Years

Problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across M365 workloads. 2 Years
