There are many ways to get involved, from Employee Resource Groups to local outreach.Here’s the Gist:Wolfspeed’s Materials Business is seeking a Continuous Improvement Technician to support our ongoing efforts to make Silicon and Moore Drive world class manufacturing areas.In this role, you will be responsible for driving, supporting, and coordinating wafer material operations improvement projects including 5S related activities. Responsibility includes but is not limited to leading Materials Continuous Improvement projects, 5S training, 5S progression by participating in 5S audits, documenting 5S findings, closure of 5S actions, workplace organization, and creating new procedures, reviewing and refining existing procedures.The person in this role will work a dedicated “Red Day” 12-hour shift in support of our 24x7 Materials operations.The Day-to-Day:Continuously strive to reduce cost and increase efficiency in wafer material operations.Maintain a safe working environment for Wolfspeed employees.Help support and establish Visual Management, 5S, Kanban’s, and other Lean initiatives on the production floor.Initiate, encourage, and drive continuous improvement efforts.Lead and participate in 5S training.Participate in 5S audits, document audit findings, and help close audit action itemsMaintain positive working relationships with all levels in the organization.This Job is Right for You if You Have:Associates Degree in science/business or equivalent and 3 years of relevant experienceExcellent interpersonal communicationsAbility to work, speak, and engage comfortably in large groups (20-50)Strong attention to detail and quality-oriented decision making.Proficient in MS Office SuiteAbility to extract, analyze, and interpret dataPositive, professional, can-do attitude, and capability to work effectively with coworkers at every level of the company.Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and take initiative with little direct supervision and a “Do whatever it takes” work ethic.Team Player and able to multi task in several areas.Effective time management skills to handle tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Ability to handle change quickly and efficiently – Fast paced, results driven and team-oriented culture.Job requires continuous walking across different areas, bending, and lifting.Able (when required) to work in a Class 100 cleanroom environment, fully gowned in cleanroom attire.Able to lift 50 pounds.Able to sit/stand for 12 hour shifts.This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.This role requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
