Description Robert Half has partnered with a Not-for-Profit organization in Durham, North Carolina that is seeking a diligent and meticulous Accounting Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's in accounting and experience working in the not-for-profit sector. Primarily responsibilities will include directing accounting functions, including overseeing AP/AR/GL activities, analysis of financial data, managing budgets, and coordinating audits. This company offers a hybrid schedule and excellent benefits, so please apply today!Responsibilities Oversee the company's accounting operations, including the design of an organizational structure to achieve the department's goals and objectives. Monitor incoming checks received by mail, process, and submit them for deposit. Assist with processing accounts receivable and accounts payable. Collect W-9 forms, process 1099s, and track down outstanding checks. Review monthly credit card bills, collect GL codes from staff, and submit them for payment. Coordinate the volunteer payment process, including honoraria payments and expense reimbursements. Manage and distribute daily batches from the bank and provide monthly reconciliation reports. Review vendor invoices for accuracy and coding and prepare for payment. Assist in managing the yearly budgets cycle. Coordinate the annual audit process with staff and CPA advisor and manage the 990-filing process. Attend staff meetings, work on task forces, and contribute to other projects as needed. Skills: Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Billing Functions, Account Reconciliation, Monthly Bank Reconciliation, General Ledger, Month End Close, Budgeting - Forecasting, Quickbooks Online, Microsoft Excel.Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting Manage Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management. Proven experience in Auditing and Billing Functions. Strong skills in Account Reconciliation and Monthly Bank Reconciliation. Experience in managing General Ledger and conducting Month End Close. Proficient in Budgeting and Forecasting. Experience in using QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
