SR SQL Database Administrator (Must Sit Out Of Charlotte Metro Area)

Description:OverviewThe SR SQL Database Administrator will support customer’s accounts, leading the responsibility to ensure the stability of the SQL server and clustered environments. Troubleshooting issues as they arise, but leading the drive to make recommendations that will reduce incident occurrence and meet the accounts business needs. Ideal candidate should be someone who enjoys and can lead with the design, architecture, planning of SQL Database(s) and Database clusters. You must enjoy a close-knit team environment of shared responsibility and be willing and able to work a flexible schedule as needed to cover specific Accounts, scheduling requirements or projects.Position Office Location: Charlotte, NCTYPICAL DUTIESTypical duties include, but are not limited to:Provide tier two support for the Database Administration team.Install, configure, troubleshoot and SQL databases, as well as cluster technologies.Perform capacity planning, and monitor database usage.Accurately document procedures, configurations, trouble descriptions and problem resolution.Work with and provide support to developers to implement solutions as needed, release code, and creatively solve problems.Participate in incident management and problem resolutions in a timely fashion, escalate issues as needed.Document all work actions as required by TEKsystems customer and their clients in accordance with standard policies and proceduresWork with TEKsystems customer, client and third-party technical and service teams to maintain, troubleshoot and connect technical issuesPerform advanced systems testing and operational tasks for a wide variety of systemsSupport multiple systems in 24 x 7 environment operational environments with high uptime requirements. Varied shift schedules may include day, night and weekend hoursOther duties as assignedBASIC QUALIFICATIONSExpert knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems and Microsoft SQL.Working knowledge of Virtual Environments, storage, and Raw Data Mapping.Ability to work in a self-directed manner on multiple tasks or projects, with excellent organizational and time-management skillsHigh level of professionalism, particularly working with and assisting clients with technical questions and issuesAbility to produce and maintain documentation of information security systems using a variety of tools (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SharePoint, etc.)Ability to travel up to 20%, when needed.MUST HAVEFunctional knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 - SQL Server 2022Functional knowledge of Always On Architecture and configurationFunctional knowledge of performance tuning for Microsoft SQL ServerFunctional knowledge of AzureAbility to troubleshoot issues in high pressure environmentAbility to create organized technical documentationExperience in a PROD/UAT/TEST/DEV architecture with understanding of change managementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMCSA SQL certification5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL systems and related technologies including clustering technologies.Demonstrated skill in working effectively with people of all technical levels including conflict resolution, collaborative problem solving, and responsive customer service is required.Certification and/or experience working in an ITIL or IT Service Management environment preferred.Skills:Database administrator, Sql, Microsoft sql server, always on architecture, performance tuning, azure, organizational change management, uat testing, oracle, vmware esxiTop Skills Details:Database administrator, Latest MS SQL server versions, always on architecture, performance tuning, Azure, Change management, UAT testingLIKE TO HAVE Functional knowledge of Oracle and VMWareExperience Level:Expert LevelAbout TEKsystems: We're partners in transformation.
