About the Role As a Registered Nurse (RN) – OBGYN & Women’s Health, you will play a critical role in providing specialized care for women, supporting prenatal, postpartum, gynecological, and reproductive health needs. You will work closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for patients in a trusted, comfortable, and welcoming environment. You will educate, support, and advocate for women while managing individualized care plans that promote optimal health outcomes. Your expertise will help guide patients through pregnancy, reproductive health concerns, family planning, menopause, and more. Essential Functions Specialized OBGYN & Women’s Health Care:

Provide direct patient care in an OBGYN clinic setting, assisting with prenatal, postpartum, and well-woman visits.

Support patients through pregnancy, infertility treatments, family planning, and menopause management.

Assist in procedures such as Pap smears, colposcopies, ultrasounds, IUD insertions/removals, and endometrial biopsies.

Educate patients on reproductive health, birth control options, prenatal care, and postpartum recovery.

Offer compassionate support for women experiencing pregnancy loss, high-risk pregnancies, or reproductive challenges.

Leadership & Advocacy:

Use problem-solving skills to address patient concerns and ensure high-quality care.

Serve as an advocate for women’s health, ensuring that all patients feel empowered and heard in their healthcare journey.

Act as a liaison for clinical functions, helping to improve patient experience and outcomes.

Assessment:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine women’s health needs and track pregnancy progress.

Utilize patient histories, physical assessments, and clinical data to create personalized care plans.

Recognize and address urgent maternal health concerns, escalating cases as necessary.

Planning & Care Coordination:

Work closely with obstetricians, gynecologists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, and midwives to coordinate patient care.

Ensure safe and effective care plans that align with patients’ reproductive goals and overall health needs.

Educate and support expecting mothers, first-time parents, and women navigating menopause.

Communication & Documentation:

Effectively communicate patient conditions and care plans to the interdisciplinary team.

Use SBARQ (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation, and Question) for structured communication and patient handoffs.

Maintain timely and accurate documentation in medical records to ensure continuity of care.

Human Experience & Patient Engagement:

Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where women feel comfortable discussing their health concerns.

Conduct patient rounding to ensure meaningful connections and provide updates on wait times and procedures.

Use clear, compassionate language to explain treatments, procedures, and follow-up care.

Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace where patients and team members are valued and respected.

Other Duties:

Perform all other duties as assigned to support clinic operations and patient care.

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements Education:

Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) – Preferred.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing – Required.

For RNs with an inactive, retired, or lapsed license for five or more years:

If not licensed in another state within the last five years, successful completion of a Board-approved refresher course is required before reactivating or reinstating licensure.

Reinstatement applications must be submitted within one year of completing the refresher course to maintain current licensure status.

Experience:

One to two years of experience in obstetrics, postpartum care, women’s health, or emergency services – Preferred.

Licensure & Certification:

Current RN license in the applicable state – Required.
