If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are looking for an opportunity to develop your career, then we have a great opportunity for you.About This Role:The Controller, CBT & Applied position will be directly responsible for managing accounting & controllership for the Carrier Business and Technology (CBT) business units (ALC Factory, Abound and Nlyte businesses), with an assembly location in Kennesaw, GA. In addition, the Applied (Charlotte) factory & business are also in scope for this role. Responsibilities include related transformation, reporting, analysis, compliance, and finance/business partnership.This role will report to the Controller Commercial HVAC, Americas & CBT and have four direct reports.If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are looking for an opportunity to develop your accounting career, then we have a great opportunity for you. We are seeking a motivated, analytical, self-starter to contribute to our continued legacy of financial strength.Key Responsibilities:

Support the Internal Control (SOX) process and perform GAP analysis (Level 3)

Coordinate and manage the month end closing and consolidation processes;

Review and approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations

Review standard cost processes & calculations & provide inputs into bad debt, excess & obsolete calculations and manage accruals/reserves

Prepare balance sheet fluctuation analysis and consolidate at BU (CHVACCBT) level

Prepare/review ERP Trial Balances for HFM submission (4th Shift + NetSuite) and manage all supplemental data

Integrate and transform the newly stood up CBT business unit as well as the Applied support model

Provide Accounting support to internal customers (Finance, Sales, Operations, etc.) and work closely with CFO of CBT & Applied and other business partners

Drive a culture that embraces and strives for continuous improvement and transformation

Lead, train, develop and retain a diverse accounting team

Ad-hoc projects as needed by NA Controller and business partners

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

8+ years of experience in Financial Accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA or CMA preferred, but not required

Prior supervisory experience

Demonstrated knowledge and application of accounting principles and internal control procedures

Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel, ERP Applications, SAP, and HFM

Strong communication skills with the ability to present recommendations effectively to management

Adaptable/Self starter

Attention to detail and delivering a quality work product on time

Ability to work cross-functionally to solve business process issues

Experience with factory and software accounting a plus
