About Patient:

Disabled Female in her 50's, pleasant and bright personality, with Inflammatory Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA),

other health disorders, including severe Osteoporosis. (smokes, but only in one room of the home)

Patient struggles with swollen, at times malfunctioning joints from Rheumatoid Disease, muscle weakness, flare-ups which cause constant exhaustion as well as occasional minor memory problems.

Bathing is difficult, painful, and exhausting, but necessary with help, which is Caregiver’s primary and most important task. (Each day is different, unpredictable, with level of assistance needed.)

Patient lives with husband who works long hours in home office, and teenaged son who takes online college courses. Husband is unable to help patient with much physical assistance due to back problems.

Family and visitors are very careful to avoid any and all Covid exposure; they avoid public situations except when absolutely necessary. All are Fully Vaccinated including new Bivalent Boosted for Covid, wear masks when in public (caregiver will be safe from Covid exposure while around members of this family, They need similar level of Covid responsibility from caregiver).

Patient is 5’9”, 150 lbs., not a small woman. Caregiver must be strong and steady to help balance patient when needed.

If needed, son is able to teach the new caregiver easy, proper safety techniques they learned from Physical Therapists and RNs for balancing a patient, holding their arm and guarding while walking, support to help a patient to standing position when appropriate, as in helping up from a chair.
