Job Summary: Responsible for overall operational supervision and management for Anatomic Pathology service at the Downtown and Community campuses. In collaboration with the Medical Directors, develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures, methodologies and instrumentation. Designs, monitors and manages the department to provide and promote high quality, efficient, cost effective, integrated, consolidated laboratory services in compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency requirements. Supervises staff and utilization of resources to meet financial goals, productivity standards, quality standards and the strategic goals of the assigned technical laboratory section that provides inpatient, outpatient, and consultation services. Works closely with IT staff to ensure that Laboratory Information Systems are accurately and adequately configured and provide clinically relevant clinical data. Provides coverage for the Pathology Department's Director of Clinical Laboratories as needed.Minimum Qualifications: BS in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or natural science with 6 years clinical laboratory experience to include 1 year in a supervisory/administrative capacity. ASCP or equivalent certification required. NYS license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist required.Preferred Qualifications: MS in MT/CLS preferred.
