Description Position Overview:The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a critical role in managing the company's financial obligations by accurately processing and recording accounts payable transactions. This position involves verifying invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:

Receive and review invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests for accuracy and completeness.

Match invoices with supporting documentation, such as purchase orders and receiving reports, to verify the validity of charges.

Code invoices with appropriate general ledger account codes and cost centers for proper allocation.

Enter invoices into the accounting system and ensure accurate and timely processing of payments.

Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.

Process and review employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Prepare and process electronic payments, including ACH transfers, wire transfers, and check payments.

Maintain vendor accounts and contact information, including updating vendor records and resolving payment inquiries.

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.

Generate accounts payable reports and provide analysis as needed for management review.

Requirements

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

Proven experience (2+ years) working in accounts payable or related finance role.

Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, procedures, and best practices.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to detect errors and discrepancies.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Experience with electronic payment systems and vendor management software is a plus.
