Entry-Level Engineer Position

Technology Partners is a leading Technology Provider and IT organization that has provided 20 years of IT support to the New York Metropolitan area. Our company provides a range of IT services, and technologies that solve critical problems for clients in and around the NYC area.
The company is looking to fill the position of Entry Level Engineer for an academic institution client in Riverdale Bronx, NY All candidates should be within short travel distance to Riverdale via public transit. This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate with a BS in Computer Science, or a person with comparable entry level computer engineering skills, who wants to gain hands-on experience in a live IT environments. The position offers growth potential, the chance to work with and learn from knowledgeable senior staff, and the possibility to advance your career in a firm that is passionate about technology.
Responsibilities and Duties
The duties of the position include:
- Manage the network and technical infrastructure for a school facility
- Maintain a technical knowledge of the company's technology offerings
- Hands-on troubleshooting for escalated problems
- Technical documentation
- Hands-on multitasking and work under firm deadlines onsite and in offsite locations
- Complete minor system repairs, upgrades, and installation of hardware and software.
Experience and Skills
Candidates should have experience in the following:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Project management
- Fundamental understanding of routers and switching technology
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies including Google Apps, Rackspace, Microsoft Office 365 , and Cloud storage
- Firewalls and basic understanding of NAT
- Ability to support Microsoft Windows desktop systems
- Ability to support Google Chromebook systems
- Understanding of network cabling, installation, patch panels etc.
- Excellent technical writing skills
