About the Family
We are a warm, active family of four living in Darien, CT. Our two daughters (ages 4 and 2) are cared for by our wonderful full-time nanny during the week, and we also have a sweet, low-maintenance 8-year-old lab mix. Both parents work full-time outside the home, and we are looking for a kind, capable, and proactive House Manager to help us stay on top of daily household needs and bring calm and order to our busy lives.

Core Responsibilities
Household Management & Organization
Maintain daily tidiness and overall order throughout the home including kiitchen, living room, and playroom
Oversee home organization systems (closets, toys, drawers, pantry)
Load/unload dishwasher and wipe down counters
Check and vacuum/sweep floors as needed
Supervise or coordinate with vendors and service providers (e.g., handymen, landscapers)
Prep the home for weekly cleaning service (Thursdays)
Support packing and unpacking for travel or special events
Keep the household calendar organized and up to date
Inventory & Errands
Maintain inventory of pantry, fridge, and household supplies
Run errands: groceries, dry cleaning, pharmacy, gift shopping, returns
Sort mail, manage packages, coordinate returns
Meal Planning & Preparation
Prepare one healthy family-style meal per week (open to batch cooking or drop-off)
Grocery shop for ingredients and pantry staples
Clean up kitchen post-meal prep
Laundry & Linen Care
Wash, fold, and put away household laundry (including bedding and towels)
Steam or iron clothes as needed
Rotate bedding and ensure supplies are stocked
Spot clean kids gear - backpacks, car seats, etc
Pet Care
Help schedule and coordinate vet appointments
Replenish pet supplies
Light cleanup of dog hair (e.g., vacuum couch)
Deep Cleaning & Projects
Tackle deep cleans (fridge, oven, pantry, baseboards, etc.) on a monthly basis
Clean humidifiers and appliances monthly
Assist with toy storage refreshes and seasonal reorganizing
Coordinate seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, linens)
Childcare Support (As Needed)
Be available for light backup care, snacks, or play if needed
Reset and prep school or activity bags
Help with children’s laundry or occasional gear cleaning
