Busy wine/liquor store located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan is seeking an experienced Retail Supervisor / Wine Sales person to help build and grow our business. Must have understanding of wines, regions, producers, spirits categories and brands. Previous experience is required.
This job will require one to work nights and weekends; up to 30hrs a week. Must have extensive wine knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and can help make a difference within the company.
The position includes all sales and management responsibilities; the ideal candidate will help:
- host and participate in wine tastings, special events and promotions
- be solely responsible for making sales, talking to customers, helping suggest wines
- facilitate all aspects of service and sales
- by having great communication and computer skills
- help manage a team of 6-8 people
- build upon wine education and facilitating weekly staff trainings
- being a key holder: opening and closing the store
