We're a small wine shop with focus on natural wine but we also have a unique collection of fine and rare bottles. We are known for our helpful staff, careful curation, and a popular wine club. The shop recently expanded to nearly twice its original size. We are looking for someone to work Saturdays 12-8 and another weekday, but there is potential for more shifts down the line.
We are lucky to have a very engaged customer base of neighborhood regulars as well as wine lovers from all over the city and the US. Hospitality, customer service, and a soft touch are, in many ways, more important than the wine that is on our shelves.
Previous wine experience is a must, but you don't need to have a sommelier certification, just a good foundation and an eagerness to keep learning. This is probably not the best fit if you've never worked retail or worked with small production natural wines before, but we make sure there are lots of opportunities to taste, talk about wine, and get to know the business up close. We are a small team that is very collaborative, so the ability to work closely with others — and communicate effectively — is maybe the most important quality we are looking for. And being excited about wine, of course!
Night and weekend availability is required (we close at 8pm every day) and candidates must be able to lift 40-pound cases up and down a flight of stairs.
