Job Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the owner and consultant chef to develop exciting new dishes.

- A commitment to excellence and a focus on fresh, flavorful food.

- Coordinate kitchen staff and assist with daily service preparation.

- Rotate and oversee various sections of the kitchen as needed.

- Master and explain recipes across all sections; stay updated on any recipe or dish changes.

- Collaborate with the owner and consultant chef to create new culinary dishes.

- Record and maintain recipes in the company system.

- Ensure proper preparation and presentation of new dishes.

- Create and manage checklists for each section, ensuring timely execution by the team.

- Assist in resolving problems and actively listen to team members.

- Organize kitchen staff schedules, including cleaners.

- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.

- Ensure accurate implementation of information in the system (Paperchase, Sling, etc.).

- Oversee staff grooming in accordance with state laws and company requirements.

- Inspect all kitchen deliveries for quality and accuracy.

- Manage inventory and place orders as needed.

- Ensure all ingredients are stored in compliance with state rules and company policies.

General Requirements & Experience:

- Minimum 2 years of culinary management experience in an upscale food and beverage establishment.

- Preferably 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or above in Michelin-starred restaurants.

- Exceptional knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking.

- Experience with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

- Ability to follow and execute recipes to exacting standards.

- Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

- High standards for cleanliness, health, and safety.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Effective communication and leadership skills.

- Flexibility to work on-call, during shifts, after hours, weekends, and holidays.

- NYC Food Handlers Certification required.

- Experience in managing inventory and stocktaking.
