Pixie Scout Canteen is our seasonal concession in The Battery (April to November). Featuring simple, delicious seasonal fare and local brews, cider and wine, we are the last hospitality stop at the tip of Manhattan. Our seating is fully outdoor in the park, but the food and beverage program is run from two beautifully designed kiosk structures.
Pixie Scout is seeking folks who are experienced in and passionate about food and hospitality to staff our seasonal Canteen operation. Our season begins in April and ends in November. This is a fast paced job that includes all elements of food and beverage service plus some occasional public park variables! Your responsibilities will include the daily setup and clean up of our outdoor seating areas, barista service, bar service, light food service, point of sale management, customer service and the occasional bit of raking :)
The job requires a love of food and beverage service, strong communication skills and a commitment to detail. We are looking for folks who are eager to learn and great team players it takes a strong team to maintain our sweet hospitality vibe in the park. Scheduled start date is April 01 with about 8-16 hours of paid training ahead of our April opening. Can’t start in April? We do have folks roll on to the team in May and June as our foot traffic picks up for the summer months - reach out to us anyway!

Professional - you are willing to interact with customers in a public park setting and able to maintain professionalism in and around the workplace as a representative of Pixie Scout.
Friendly, positive, and supportive – you treat other team members with respect and care, and seek out ways to help and support other team members.
Job requirements:
> 18+ years of age
> 1+ years of professional food service and/or barista experience
> Understanding of and adherence to NYC DOHMH standards and policies (Food Protection Certificate, preferred!)
> Able to stand for at least 8 hours and complete tasks that may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
> Knowledge of wine and beer is a plus!
> Multilingualism is a MAJOR plus!
Job details:
> 6 - 9 hour shifts for up to 40 hours across a 7 day work week
> Starting pay: $20.60
