Our neighborhood favorite Bar & Restaurant in Astoria is now hiring a Head Chef/ Kitchen Manager to lead our established BOH team.
We serve a high-volume brunch alongside a casual, creative American menu throughout the week. We’re seeking someone who’s passionate about high quality cooking, seasonal ingredients, and keeping service smooth during a rush.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee all kitchen operations: prep, service, inventory, and cleanliness
Lead and schedule a small, experienced team
Ensure consistent food quality and plating standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and health-code-compliant kitchen
Contribute to menu planning and weekend brunch specials
Control food and labor costs efficiently
Who You Are:
Experienced chef or kitchen manager (3+ years in a busy kitchen)
Strong leader with great communication and time management skills
Comfortable working under pressure during rushes
Knowledgeable in American comfort food and modern brunch trends
Able to work weekends, nights, and holidays
Food Protection Certificate (or willing to obtain)
