You will be joining a team of focused and dedicated individuals who take pride in knowing that each jar, bottle, and box is nothing short of perfection. We make every drop of yogurt in-house using locally-sourced milk, and utilize every drop of whey in innovative products and collaborations that help fight food waste and set an industry example.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a NYC-based Farmer’s Market Sales Associate for our Saturday or Sunday farmers markets.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work with a small producer and learn about yogurt, local food systems, gain valuable experience in food sales, and be part of a passionate and dedicated team.
This position is fast-paced and involves driving a commercial van, physically lifting up to 50 lbs, engaging and developing relationships with customers, and honing a mastery of our product and brand.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Interacting with our customers, sampling, and providing outstanding customer service.
Maintaining knowledge of yogurt and how it is made, along with learning about the additional products we produce and sell.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
Operating a point of sale system and handling cash.
Opening and closing the market: loading and unloading van at warehouse, setting up/breaking down tent setup, safely managing our delicate inventory.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Experience with farmers markets, local food systems and interested in learning about the yogurt making process.
A valid driver’s license, with at least 3 years of driving experience; experience driving commercial vans preferred.
Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications such as Waze or Google Maps.
Associate’s degree or high school diploma.
Able to work in all weather conditions.
Reliable and able to work independently.
An excellent communicator, enjoys engaging with customers and answering questions about the business and its products
Is physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
