We are a new bar opening in The Hugh in midtown east seeking qualified restaurant professionals to fill our bartender/server role. The job will include a combination of both serving and bartending for a small counter of 15 seats with a seasonally changing menu.
Qualified candidates should meet the following criteria:
- 2 years of New York City restaurant experience (at least one year high-volume bartending experience)
- Strong general knowledge of food and food preparation (experience with Korean cuisine preferred)
- Flexible schedule (including mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, etc.)
- Ability to lift 40lbs, stand/walk for long periods of time
- Familiar with at least one POS (Toast preferred)
- Strong communication skills and solid team work
Job Duties Include:
- Full bar knowledge, proper measuring/recipe execution and basic cocktail history, as well as basic beer and wine knowledge.
- Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests.
- Prepare items needed for the day in the beginning/during and at the end of each shift.
- Maintain clean service areas.
- Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow co-workers as situations arise.
