Solstice at The Village, Big Sur will offer wood fired California cuisine that reflects the unique terroir of the Big Sur Coast through an emphasis of regionally harvested organic produce and sustainably harvested seafood. Solstice aims to strike a balance between elegant refinement and the joyful and grounded roots of Big Sur. Solstice heavily values sourcing responsibly and delivering intentionally. We are seeking to hire an expert-level bar professional who is creative, self-starting and passionately hospitable, to establish and evolve a unique and intentional bar program for Solstice. The right qualified candidate will be a heavily experienced bar technician and "bar chef," with the accumen to develop an exceptionally distinctive and bounty-driven bar identity.

Long-term full-time commitment preferred, but we are very willing to consider a seasonal and/or temporary consult agreement for someone with the right qualifications. HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES POSSIBLE - for those who choose to relocate or agree to temprary contract agreement.

THE JOB: BAR MANAGER/LEAD BARTENDER

-Work closely with a managment team of vetted professionals coming from backgrounds in multiple Michelin Star establishemnts such as The French Laundry, Coi and Aster.

-Create and maintain an exceptional on-brand cocktail program, every service, from season to season.

-Design and prepare all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for the bar and dining room with precision, efficiency and alacrity while surpassing guest expectations with unparalleled service.

-Accurately prepare and document all cocktail recipes, mixes, batches and house-made bar ingredients

-Thoroughly train and mentor the bar staff and assist in spirit/mixology education of the dining room staff.

-Continuously seek new and innovative ways to elevate, improve and develop the unique identity of Solstice's bar program through research and self-study

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Expert-level, passionate knowledge of spirits and vintage/classic and modern mixology techniques, methods and trends

-Experience developing and operating a high-end and distinctive cocktail program

-Fine-dining service ettiquette and professionalism

-Highly organized and thorough in development and execution

-Reliable, loyal, trustworthy and consistent.

-Humble and eager to serve our team as a mentor

-In-depth knowledge of implementing standards to achieve a desired pour cost

-Thorough inventory and product cost management, ordering and managing supply needs

-Discover, create and maintain relationships with suppliers implementing organic pratices

-Current Food Handler's Certificate - Management Cert preferred but not required. We can facilitate acquiring this.

-Current RBS Certificate.

-Ability to stand for long periods of time.

-Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
