Join us!Bank of America is seeking a VP or Director level CMBS Loan Originator for the Real Estate Structured Finance Group (RESF), which is the commercial real estate finance origination and distribution group within Bank of America’s Global Mortgages & Securitized Products Group (GMSP) within the Global Markets division.The Global Markets business offers sales and trading services, including research, to institutional clients across fixed-income, credit, currency, commodity, and equity businesses. Global Markets product coverage includes securities and derivative products in the primary and secondary markets.GMSP is responsible for originating, structuring and securitizing bonds backed by various types of collateral to provide liquidity and funding to a wide range of financial institutions, public companies, and financial sponsors; providing secured asset-based financing; advising financial institutions on asset and platform acquisitions and dispositions; and opportunistic lending situations.RESF focuses on the origination, structuring and distribution of Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) which are typically backed by Bank of America originated loans collateralized by all commercial real estate property types across the US and Canada. RESF also focuses on commercial mortgage balance sheet lending, commercial real estate backed CLOs and securities underwriting for institutional clients. RESF’s team is based in New York with additional offices in Charlotte, Newport Beach, Seattle, Atlanta, and Austin.The VP or Director level CMBS / CRE loan originator will be responsible for sourcing loan opportunities, maintaining relationships with key clients / referral sources and overseeing loans through the entirety of the origination, underwriting and closing processes.Job Description:Acts as the senior product representative on a client team and is solely responsible for all product transactions with key clients. Negotiates fee structures. Has extensive, in-depth knowledge of product functions and can operate independently in handling transactions. Strong client relationship skills used to control and coordinate all aspects of a transaction, from marketing and documentation to closing. Develops aggressive marketing plans and strategies affecting an entire region or section.

Responsible for direct origination of senior commercial mortgage loans for CMBS (conduit and SASB) and balance sheet

Responsible for screening deal flow / loan requests

Demonstrated history of originating on an annual basis

Proficiency in coverage and sourcing from direct borrower relationships, mortgage brokers and internal bank partners

Candidate should be prepared to provide direct borrower and mortgage broker references

Proficient in drafting loan quotes, term sheets and loan applications

Work with analysts, associates, underwriters and closers to ensure all diligence requirements are satisfied during the closing process

Possesses strong communication skills to keep borrowers and internal partners up to date throughout the origination process

Maintains strong CRE and CMBS market awareness and is conversant on all related industry matters
