Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Regulatory Reporting BA for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in lower Manhattan, NYC. He or she will need to work in the office 2 days/week. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall success of the U.S. Finance Department that supports Regulatory Reporting. Responsibilities :

  • Prepare Regulatory Reports in accordance with US GAAP and reporting instructions covering daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports (e.g., FR2900, FR2644, FFIEC 002, FFIEC 019, FR Y15, TIC reports, BE reports, etc).
  • Working knowledge of Axiom used by the department to produce the regulatory filings
  • Understand and interpret different types of transactions for compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory reporting instructions.
  • Identify key control points and evaluate monitoring controls.
  • Update procedures and other documentations including process flows and risk control matrices.
  • Recommend and implement, as feasible, improvements to process and controls and reporting based on testing results by Internal Audit, Quality Assurance team, and external regulators
  • Assist in the data collection and dashboards for financial and regulatory reporting metrics
  • Continuously enhance and drive first line ownership and accountability of the accuracy of Critical Data Elements (CDEs) used for Regulatory Reporting
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders across business and functional areas of the Bank (e.g. Operations, Treasury, Finance, IT, Product Control, Credit Risk) to interpret, operationalize and implement new regulatory reporting requirements and instructions.
  • Contribute to the effective governance framework around the reporting process to ensure data quality, integrity and accuracy of reports.
  • Assist in the development and/or updating materials to train internal stakeholders as needed, in the interpretation of FRB regulations.
  • Attends required Finance, US GAAP/IFRS, Regulatory, and any mandatory compliance training
  • Participate in any required Axiom end-to-end UAT testing
  • Ability to respond promptly and sufficiently to ad-hoc regulatory requests while ensuring other deliverables are met
  • Demonstrate an ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, independent judgment, and self-direction in meeting objectives and solving problems
  • Must ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • 10+ years working experience in Financial and Regulatory reporting at a large and complex banking organization or consulting firm
  • Strong understanding of financial and reporting requirements in the U.S.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and comprehension of U.S. GAAP accounting rule/ instructions
  • 5+ years' experience in banking and capital markets (preferably derivatives, FICC products, Secured Financing Transactions, etc.)
  • Proficient knowledge on applicable internal controls
  • Proficient PC Skills, especially in MS Office Suite; Advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
Preferred Skills:
  • Axiom or PeopleSoft experience is an asset
  • Degrees or certifications:
    • CPA preferred
