Payroll Specialist

Description We are offering an opportunity for a meticulous and organized Payroll Specialist to join our team in the Non-Profit sector located in New York, New York. Your role would primarily involve managing and processing semi-monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with Department of Labor regulations. You would also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, resolving payroll discrepancies, and responding to employee inquiries related to payroll and deductions.Responsibilities: Manage and process semi-monthly payrolls, including off-cycle bonuses, year-end bonus awards, and other compensation adjustments. Maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Ensure the accuracy of payroll data by verifying employee information, hours worked, and other relevant data. Balance the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies. Respond to inquiries related to payroll and deductions from employees. Partner with Human Capital in maintaining accurate and updated data in ADP’s Workforce Now (ADP). Reconcile ADP data to Sage Intacct with appropriate accruals and adjustments. Track full-time and part-time headcount, turnover ratio, and review data with Human Capital data for any changes. Create annual earnings statements including benefits for all employees. Provide employee compensation data to the Controller, for preparation of the federal Form 990 and other audits relating to compensation. Review and process medical, dental, vision benefits including COBRA, Life, ADD, STD, LTD, Supplemental LTD, NYDBL, NYSPFL, and all retirement contributions (403(b), 401(a) and 457(b)) and plan administration fees. Responsible for updating and maintaining the 457 deferred compensation plan and Special Awards for eligible staff. Prepare compensation related data for pension plan audits and workers’ compensation audits. Calculate Domestic Partner benefits, supplemental long-term insurances benefits, and tuition loans for year-end adjustments. Prepare internal loan schedules and agreements for employees.
