Citigroup Global Markets Inc. seeks an Investment Banking Senior Associate for its New York, New York location.Duties: Serve on the Financial Strategy Group and provide strategic advisory for clients globally on the full spectrum of corporate finance issues such as valuation, capital structure, credit ratings, risk management, liability management, shareholder distributions, acquisition, and funding strategies, with specific coverage of the Energy and Industrials sectors. Advise clients in these sectors on the optimal strategy to execute potential transactions (M&A, debt capital markets, leveraged finance, equity capital markets) in terms of the client’s credit ratings. Keep up-to-date on rating agency research and methodology, and liaise with rating agency analyst to understand their current thinking and coordinate client interactions with agencies. Perform in a client facing role and with expectations to present analyses to clients in meetings and calls. In furtherance of client management, lead multiple internal working teams, demonstration of familiarity and sufficient knowledge base on investment banking, M&A, capital market originations for effective coordination with working teams. Articulate and present in-depth corporate finance concepts to bankers and clients. Produce innovation and thematic content generation. Responsible for driving the development of client relationships with large institutional clients through identification of emerging trends that affect corporations using quantitative analytics including statistical and simulation-based analysis. Assist in driving thought leadership for the firm by developing thematic content on new and emerging trends in financial markets such as global macroeconomic risks factors from a corporate finance perspective. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent, in Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field and 3 years of experience as an Investment Banking Associate, Investment Banking Senior Analyst, Investment Banking Analyst, Transaction Tax Staff, CIB Analyst, or related position involving strategic advisory services for corporate and financial institution clients. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the stated fields and 5 years of the specified progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. Full span of experience must include: Credit rating analytics; Financial modelling; Financial data and analytics platforms: S&P Capital IQ, Moody's Analytics and Bloomberg; Capital raising and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). Additionally, 1 year of experience must include: Performing at the Associate level within the Investment Banking Division of a global financial services institution; Corporate finance models: cash flow models, ratings models, fair value of debt and warrant option models; MS Office Suite and FactSet; Analyzing structured financial transactions; Performing dept capacity assessment to analyze economics of intra-company debt instruments; Pricing bonds, loans and preferred shares; Auditing financial models to assess impact on credit quality and corporate ratings; Evaluating pro forma metrics; Integrating rating agency adjustments into valuation models; Developing competitive analysis to estimate ratings.
