New York, New york city 00000 New york city USA
Aplica ya

A unique and comprehensive creative enrichment studio for preschool-aged children is seeking experienced, talented, energetic, and creative co-teachers part-time for its Fall 2024 through Spring 2025 program for Twos, Threes, and Four year olds. The Studio experience follows a multi-disciplinary approach to creative and imaginative learning. For this position you must have experience teaching young children and adore them as well.

Yoga, creative movement, art, design, storytelling, drama, outdoor nature exploration, and musical expression are the main exploratory foundations of the program's offerings. All of the curriculum and experiences provided by Studio strive to expose children to learning about various global cultures, compassionate awareness, and nature and the environment. Each learning group at Studio is comprised of 8 to 10 children with 2 co-teachers.

Studio nurtures a relationship-based, Holistic Process Approach philosophy, and regularly includes the participation of artists and musicians, as well as occasional participation of parents and family members. The program is very energetic and is centered upon exploring movement, music, arts, and sculpture as main proponents and modes of creative learning. Please see our website at www.studiocreativeplay.org for more information about our mission and philosophy.

Teachers with musical proficiency and talent are particularly wanted, especially if they can play an instrument, such as the guitar, to offer regular music to the classroom experience.

In particular, we are seeking warm, nurturing co-teachers who have a genuine and inspired affinity for working with the two-, three-, and four-year-old age group, and the capacity to be an innovative and dynamic lead in our Studio setting where parents are not present. The position requires working closely with the Studio co-teaching team and director, and frequently communicating with and guiding parents. As a relationship-based program, we are seeking those who can commit to our full 10-month program, September 2024 through June 2025. Training begins in the last week of August, and involves two three-hour meetings in July and mid-August for which all faculty are compensated.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience in an early childhood arts or educational class environment, and the ability to develop, follow, and implement creativity-based curriculum. Because co-teachers care for the children for up to 6-hour time spans without parents present, childcare is a core responsibility of the job.

Applicants must be available to teach part-time, 3-5 days of the work week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30am-12:30pm or 8:30am to 4:30pm.

The position is part-time and offers hourly or salary compensation, approximately 25 hours to 36 hours a week. There are about 4 weeks of unpaid vacation time over the 10-month session.

Compensation is $25.00 - $34.00 hourly depending on experience. Healthcare stipends are provided.

Please write to us about your background and what specifically attracts you to our program, philosophical approach, and mission. Tell us what inspires you about our program and what you would offer to a program such as ours.

All applicants must submit a cover letter and resume to be considered.

Please write directly to the Director of Administrative Services.

We look forward to hearing from you!
