Established group family daycare (15 years in business) is looking for a part-time caring, dedicated, enthusiastic and energetic professional assistant teacher to work with infants and toddlers (ages 3 weeks to 3 years old). Minimum 25+ hours per week, with strong potential for full time. College student studying early childhood OK. Start date by May/June.
Daycare hours 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Daycare has capacity of twelve children, with one caregiver for every two children under 2 years of age.
Duties include but not limited to: supervising the children, co-creating and implementing lesson plans, maintaining child and classroom hygiene, feeding infants with bottles, serving meals, preparing or re-heating simple meals and snacks, changing diapers and soiled clothes, supervising bathroom use and nap-time, supervising and actively playing with the children on the floor and at activity tables, as well as outdooors, singing and dancing with the children, and reading books to the children.
Bilingual Spanish and ability to play an instrument a PLUS.
Required Qualifications:
-Fingerprints, medical, background clearance, and other workshops required (including professional development and infant/child First Aid/CPR). All paid by employer.
-2+ years experience working/volunteering in a program or working as a nanny/babysitter for 2+years with children under 3 years of age
-High school or equivalent, but some college or associates or higher preferred
-Outstanding people skills
-Excellent, professional communication with children, parents, and supervisor/owner
-Must love young children and show warmth, communication, and high-quality, age-appropriate interaction with children from 3 months to 3 years of age
-Knowlege of early childhood development
-Must be paid on the books
Must be able to reliably commute and be punctual.
$15-18 per hour to start based on experience and education, paid holidays, two weeks paid summer vacation (late August), one paid week off Christmas/New Years, paid snow days, paid low attendance days, and some paid personal/medical/sick days.
Three references required from those who have observed you work with young children.
