IMMEDIATE HIRE! We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Estimator to join our team. You will play a crucial role in working side by side with the estimating department with project management and construction estimating. Your primary responsibility will be to support the team in preparing accurate and competitive bids for construction projects. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills and a passion for the HVAC Construction industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)
- Assisting the estimating team in preparing cost estimates for construction projects.
- Work on bid packages; attend bid openings if needed, order bonds, gather insurance, prepare proposals, pick-up/drop off new completed bids, maintain bid log, recording results.
- Reviewing project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents; incoming agenda, RFI’s, quotes, sending out RFP’s with plans and specs.
- Collaborating and following up with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing information, lead time on materials.
- Understanding scope of work and assist with detailed pipe take-offs, prepare/revise quote sheets.
- The ability to read blueprints is a PLUS!
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong oral, written communication and organizational skills.
- Meet timely deadlines.
- Must be a dependable and reliable team player.
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Fast Pipe software is a plus.
- Valid NYS Drivers License
Schedule is Monday – Friday 9-5 p.m. Benefits are available. Interviews are next week!
